Stamp It Group Easter Blog Hop

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.

We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

My FAVORITE collection from our January – June Mini Catalog is the Welcoming Window Bundle. I am an architect by trade, at least in my past life….my current life is consumed with enjoying my kids. As an architect I enjoy the the architectural features that any structure has to offer….I am drawn predominately by doors and windows. I have been on the lookout for a set that somehow incorporates these architectural feature that I can get into my stash and know that it will be used some how some way time and time again. The stamp images and die cuts are exactly what I have been looking for, for quite some time.

This hop theme is Easter, living in the bible belt, the image on the card front is quite commonly seen during Easter. I used the Welcoming Window Bundle in conjunction with the His Love stamp set from the Annual Catalog. It is a beautiful set, and I think this cross or beautiful. The greeting at the top of the card comes from the Itty Bitty Greeting set also from the Annual Catalog.

The window is stamped in Crumb Cake and colored with Light Highland Heather, Light Gray Granite and Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends markers, then did a bit of line work with a black journaling pen. The shutters and window sill are die cut with the coordinating die, but I first laid the dies texture side down into the Crumb Cake ink pad to get a darker wood grain impression. Then I inked the edges to give them a bit more of a rustic look. The cross is stamped in Memento black on Basic White cardstock, the edges are inked with black and then using the Light Gray Granite Blends marker gave the cross a bit more color. The window sill and cross are attached to the card front with dimensionals, The cross dimensionals are doubled up to add even more depth. The shutters are glued directly to the focal panel. I used the flower cluster image from the Welcoming Window stamp set, they are stamped in Old Olive and Highland Heather. The bricks are stamped in 2nd generation Cajun Craze. The finished panel is mounted onto a Highland Heather mat cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. Gorgeous Grape Ribbon and Highland Heather Pearls adorn the cross.

Inside the card I stamped the cross image from His Love stamp set (did I mention I adore that cross) and the sentiment comes from the same set.
