Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.

We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

The winner for this month’s random drawing will be announced Saturday 21 November. Don’t forget to enter and Good luck!

I absolutely love the way this card came together. I have a personal challenge that I set each week for myself. I challenge myself to use one stamp set for an entire week – come what may. If the challenge or class requires additional sentiments or images I will allow myself to select a set that I feels coordinates for the given situation. The chosen stamp set/bundle however must remain the star. Country Home can be seen on page 95 in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. I was intimidated by this set at first, maybe for the simplicity of it or maybe for the perceived fussy cutting nightmare. Not real sure – but by the end of the week I was in love with this set and saw all the versatility it had to offer! If you would like more inspiration for this set, or help breaking down a mental block, there are images scrolling below of all the cards on my blog, click one and off you go!

In this case, since I was shooting for a Thanksgiving theme, I didn’t feel the sentiments in the Country Home set gave a warm and fuzzy Holiday Thanks kind of feel, so I leaned to the Come Together Bundle just a bit.

This card begins with a half sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock cut to 4-1/4″ x 11 scored at 5-1/2″ for a top folding card. Now to get all the stamping and coloring completed first. I stamped the milk can and cotton stalk bouquet on a larger scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock in the Coffee Archival Ink. Living in the south I can speak from experience, cotton stalks are not black though they are brown/dark brown, not quite sure what I was about to do to this image I felt safer using the Archival Ink and the color was far more appropriate. To render this image I just went crazy! The Bouquet is rendered in Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo Pack, Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo Pack, Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker and Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo Pack. The Milk can image is rendered with Basic Black Stampin’ Blends Combo Pack, Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends Marker and….wait for it…. a tiny drop of Celestial Copper Delicata Ink Refill. The Milk can is highlighted and shaded with a bit of Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends Marker and a white thin tip paint pen. On another piece of Very Vanilla scrap the sentiment “Season of Thanks” from the Gather Together Stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso. On one last piece of Very Vanilla scrap, all 3 pumpkins are stamped in Cajun Craze and rendered with a combination of Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo Pack and a touch of Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends Marker Combo Pack.

Heading over to the die cutting, embossing machine of choice, the bouquet in a milk can image is die cut using a Stitched Rectangle Die. A larger piece of Cajun Craze is cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies and acts as the mat for the focal image. A strip of Copper Foil in the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder is run through the machine. An Early Espresso card stock cut size piece is embossed with the Pinewood Plank Embossing Folder. The sentiment is die cut using the largest frame die from the Merry Christmas Die set from the Annual Catalog. A sentiment mat is created using a scrap of Cajun Craze and the Timeless Label punch. The pumpkins are also die cut with their coordinating die from the Gathered Leaves die set. After I die cut them, I decided I didn’t like the edge around them so I fussy cut them down a bit more. The final touch is a 6″ piece of Burlap Ribbon that will be wrapped around the finished mat before it goes on the front of the card base.

Now everything comes together to make this cohesive, gorgeous whole! Can you tell I love this card? To the back of the Early Espresso embossed mat, adhered with liquid adhesive is a piece of black craft foam. I really love how stable, solid this makes the card front feel, it mails well. Adhered with liquid glue to the front of the Early Espresso mat is the embossed Copper Foil strip. The Very Vanilla stitched rectangle with the Milk Can Bouquet is adhered with liquid glue to the Rectangle Stitched Cajun Craze mat. Once together and centered this unit is attached to the Early Espresso/ Copper Foil panel. Using Tearing Tape on the back of the Burlap Ribbon, I wrap the ends of the ribbon to the back of the Early Espresso mat up and over the foam by a bit. I put the 2 sentiment pieces together and then adhere them on top of the ribbon with dimensionals,

Inside the card is lined with a sheet of Very Vanilla, the colored and die cut pumpkins are then arranged in the bottom corner and adhered with liquid glue.
