It has been a while since I have done a challenge, it has been oh so busy around here. This challenge definitely caught my eye as I am in full fledge Valentine mode, and these colors seem to work perfectly with my current mindset. Here is my interpretation of Global Design Project Color Challenge #GDP225
This card was super easy to get together….typically the best kind of card! I had to work through a couple of kinks but essentially my idea actually worked out.
The card base is Whisper White Thick cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ creating a top fold card. Stamped in Pear Pizzazz on a piece of Whisper White is the viney, leafy branches image from Thoughtful Blooms which is a free item in Sale-A-Bration. Also in this stamp set is the flower images, the outline is stamped in a stamped off Real Red and the fill color is Flirty Flamingo. In the center of each flower is a tiny flower from the set that is stamped in Whisper White Craft ink. Also free in Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order is the Small Bloom Punch which is used to punch out the flowers. Two of the flowers are curled with the ball tip of the Take your Pick Tool and a Piercing Mat, then glued together and left to dry.
Real Red and Flirty Flamingo Cardstock hearts in my stash, created from a die cutting session using the Stitched Be Mine Die set. A large heart of one color and a small heart of the other color are glued together, and left to dry, creating a few more “lovely” flowers.
The piece of Whisper White with the viney image already stamped in Pear Pizzazz is cut to size with scalloped rectangle frame from the Stiched So Sweetly Die set in the Mini Catalog – this set can also be bundled with a sentiment stamp set called So Sentimental. Bundle always come at a 10% discount. A piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock is cut to size as a mat and run through the embossing machine with the Layered Leaves embossing folder, it is attached another mat layer of Real Red cardstock.
With all the pieces of the cardstock dry and ready to placed, each item is glued to the Whisper White front panel. The sentiment “For a Very Special Someone” is from the Special Someone Stamp set, which will have a coordinating die set called Special Days Die set available 4 February 2020. The sentiment is black heat embossed on the now finished Whisper White panel. This panel is attached to the double mat panel with dimensionals. The final pièce de ré·sis·tance is a few pearls placed in the center of the 3D flower and at each end of the sentiment.
As always the inside is not to be forgotten. I repeated a portion of the viney image with the “lovely” flowers in the lower corner.
