Today I have for you a card created using the gorgeous stamp set from the August Paper Pumpkin Kit. I absolutely adore this set, simple but so many options. This card is my answer to the Color Challenge #337 posted by CAS Colours & Sketches.
There is only one image to this set with several sentiments, the kit contents are absolutely gorgeous! The August Kit is no longer available, only the refill kit which does not include the stamp set is available. There is also an August Kit Add-on that is still available. I have links below, if you would like to check those out.
This card is pretty simple, but I love the way it finally came together. The card base is Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a standard side folding card. The matts are cut to size from Soft Suede and Garden Green. The decorative panel is water color paper where I did the “smooshing” technique using the Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green Ink refills. Then I splattered the panel with watered down Soft Suede Ink. After all of that had it chance to dry thoroughly, I stamped the branch image from the August Paper Pumpkin Kit in Soft Suede. Once that dried a bit, I went back with my Aqua Brush, Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green Inks to add a bit more color variation to the leaves. I love how the Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green muddied in the center coming very close to the Soft Suede color on their own. I ran the water color paper through my laminator to remove the warping, making it easier to adhere to the card front.
The sentiment “Grateful for Family like you” also comes from the August Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Soft Suede on a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock and then punched out with the Timeless Label Punch. From a scrap piece of Garden Green cardstock, I punched a strip using the Classic Label Punch and some additional leaf sprigs using the Leaf Punch. I attached the classic label punch strip at the bottom of the decorative panel with liquid adhesive, then tinted the leaves by sponging them with a bit of Garden Green ink, then curled them. Attached them with liquid adhesive to the back of the sentiment, then attached the unit to the card with dimensionals over the already attached strip.
Of course the inside is not to be ignored! On a baby wipe I applied a few drops from the refills of Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green and Soft Suede. Gave the colors some time to blend together, then used the baby wipes like an inkpad. I tapped the branch image in the color mixture and stamped that on the inside corner so the colors carry through and there something pretty inside to see as well.
