Watercolor leaves for CAS

Hey everyone, thanks so much for stopping by! Good to see you.

This will be a card created for CAS Colours & Sketches, Challenge #333. These colors definitely conjure up the vibes of the fall season. Looking at the temperature projections for those of us in the south, Fall cannot get here quick enough!

For this card I did a bit of water coloring. Like I said Fall jumped into my mind, as did falling leaves. Stampin’ Up! is introducing a new bundle in September called Gather Together that I just cannot get enough of, it is perfect for those who love leaves and pumpkins! That would be me.

To start, I used a half sheet of Cajun Craze cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ for a side folding card. On Water Color paper, I stamped the leaf image from the Gathered Together stamp set in Sahara Sand. I water colored using Old Olive, Grapefruit Grove and Cajun Craze. I then needed to outline the leaves and bring the detail of the vein back out a bit by using my black water color pencil. I cut the leaves out using the coordinating leaf die from the Gathered Leaves die set. Attached them to a piece of Whisper White cut to fit the front of the card and then stamped the sentiment “Wishing you well” in Old Olive.

The inside is not to be forgotten, also lined with a cut to fit piece of Whisper White and then stamped the bundle of wheat image from the stamp set in Sahara Sand.
