Oh the ideas that can spark from one suggestion. a million ideas came to mind by a challenge from Global Design Project GDP#228 – This was a CASE the designer challenge, a card designed by Charlet Mallett. So many ideas came to my mind but I wasn’t sure the majority were worthy of the challenge. I posted the one that I felt answered the challenge then saved the other to present to you along the way. Let me know what you think.
I really like the way this design turned out, it was more about following a whim and seeing where it would land. I am really pleased, again I fell back into the annual catalog. This is an older collection of images and phrases called Flourishing Phrases.
This design actually came about pretty easily and I love how it turned out. It begins with a Basic Black card base. The focal image is Black heat embossed then embellished with a few die cut butterflies from Butterfly Beauty Die Set that was once bundled with the Beauty Abounds Stamp set also from the annual catalog. This is where old and new collide and flourish……get it! Using the Small Bloom Punch (free with qualifying purchase of $50) from the first 2020 Sale-A-Bration release and the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp set (free with a qualifying purchase of $50), I stamped the flower outline image in Highland Heather then filled in the stamped image with the smallest fill image again with Highland Heather, then cut with the coordinating Small Bloom Punch. I layered the flowers to give a 3D look and gave them a bit of bling with Epoxy Droplets. The Butterflies are die cut from Highland Heather card. The sentiment “thanks”, die cut from Champagne glitter paper, also comes from an older die set in the Annual Catalog called Well Written. This card came together so easily and I really love the final result.
Inside I carried over the Highland Heather butterfly die cut and one layer of the Small Bloom Punch flower.
