For this post I have another Rustic Retreat card to share. Rustic Retreat is the set I chose for my personal challenge to use one stamp set/bundle (maybe another set I perceive as coordinating if needed) for a week. This card is created for a sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch. I love this stamp set, but, in my opinion this one is a bit difficult to for challenges. Maybe I make it difficult, who knows. I still love the set and I love combing it with the Merry Moose Bundle.

This card starts with half a sheet of Whisper White Thick Card Stock cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/2″ to create a standard side folding card. The Tin Tile 3D embossing folder is my go to for all things rustic or country. I just love the feeling it lends to the scene on that sort of card. Here a piece of Cajun Craze is run through the embossing machine with the Tin Tile 3D embossing folder, then to add to the charm I “distressed” the embossed image with the Delicata Celestial Copper Metallic Ink Pad. I cheated just a bit with my own challenge, I used a 3rd bundle! I reached for the Pine Tree Punch from the Perfectly Plaid Bundle. I felt the trees where an appropriate vertical element for this challenge. The trees are punched out in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. There is a 3rd tree inside “distressed” with a bit of Mossy Meadow Ink, no real reason other than I liked the depth and interest that treatment lent to the lone tree inside. Gave it a little love.

The cottage image in the Rustic Retreat set is stamped in Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and Mossy Meadow. I used daubers to get the colors where they needed to be. Once stamped, I used the Stampin’ Blends Combo Markers in Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and Mossy Meadow to color in the image. Using a stitched circle that fit the image I ran that through the die cutting machine. On Soft Suede I stamped the Moose image from the Merry Moose Bundle in Soft Suede ink then cut out the moose with the coordinating punch. For grins and giggles I stamped the scarf image in Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow card stock, fussy cut that image and attached it to the moose with liquid glue. What self respecting Moose would be caught dead Everything is adhered to the card front with liquid glue, except the moose – he gets a little extra love with dimensionals.

As always I do not leave the inside to fend for itself, the extra tree I punched earlier is now placed in the lower corner to pull the feel of the front on through.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed pulling it together. If you would like to learn more about this challenge, the design team behind these challenges or to see what other creative designers have created for this challenge, hop on over to CAS(E) this Sketch!
