I am absolutely in love with this card! First off, I love the look, colors and smell of lavender. So much so that I have anything and everything connected to it. Lavender shower gel and lotion, essential oil for my laundry, diffusers, candles, etc. So it is a natural progression that I had to have the Lavender Suite. I personally don’t do much with patterned paper unless I can connect with the majority of the patterns in the pack, this set is a success with me – purple is always welcome, I adore the natural rustic feel of crumb cake – this entire suite has won me over. For this card, I had the overwhelming need to add in the Simply Zinnia bundle – for an additional touch of color. It feels more like a flower garden with that addition which also works perfectly for a birthday card. The Crumb cake gingham patterned paper works so well for the background – and I simply love the pattern. The colors are what makes me the happiest with Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape for the lavender. Berry Burst, Lofty Lemon, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the Zinnia. The leaves are Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock. The flowers and leaves are cut with the coordinating Simply Zinnia die set. The sentiment is from the Notes of Nature stamp set, stamped in Crumb Cake on Basic White cardstock and die cut with the Tailor Made Tags die set. The final touches of the Natural Wavy Trim – which is hands down my favorite ribbon/trim of all, and a dash of purple and sparkle on the tag with the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems (another piece to the Painted Lavender Suite.)

I decided to go with a fun fold card, primarily because I have several bases that I pre-made for my holiday cards. I made several with the intended design, apparently I got bored, and decided to embark on a new adventure, and created a different card for the remaining holiday cards I had left to make. So now I find myself left with several Basic White fun fold card bases. Surely I am not the only out there with thoughts that go everywhere! Can I get an Amen…..anyone!

This card uses a pre-made fun fold card base (wink, wink) in Basic White Thick cardstock. Everything comes together from the Daffodil Daydream Bundle, The Daffodil bouquet is stamped in Tuxdeo Black then colored with Stampin’ Blends in Evening Evergreen, Pale Papaya and Flirty Flamingo Combo packs. The Evening Evergreen and Flirty Flamingo cardstock tags in the background are die cut using the Tailor Made Tags, then stamped in the coordinating color with the border image in the Stamp set. The sentiment strip is also cut with one of the Tailor Made Tags, the sentiment is from the Hello Beautiful stamp set and is stamped in Evening Evergreen. All the paper pieces are attached with dimensionals to a Basic White mat cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die. I a small piece of Crinkle White seam binding ribbon is used in the sentiment tag and a 6″ length of Evening Evergreen 3/8″ windowpane check ribbon “holds together” the bouquet of daffodils. Inside the card I attached a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-bration Daffodil Afternoon 12″x12″ Designer Series Paper, this pulls together the Flirty Flamingo and Pale Papaya of the daffodils. I also attached a basic white frame inside the card – a remnant from the Stitched Rectangles dies. As a stopper for the card front, I die cut a smaller Tailor Made Tag from a scrap of Evening Evergreen cardstock and finished off with a eyelet and tiny piece of Crinkle Ribbon. To the tag I used the butterfly dies from the Daffodil Dies to cut a Flirty Flamingo and Pale Papaya Butterfly. As a pop of bling throughout the card I used the Brushed Brass Butterflies, very much keeping the springy theme going.
