Good luck to you all and enjoy the hop.

I am absolutely in love with this card! First off, I love the look, colors and smell of lavender. So much so that I have anything and everything connected to it. Lavender shower gel and lotion, essential oil for my laundry, diffusers, candles, etc. So it is a natural progression that I had to have the Lavender Suite. I personally don’t do much with patterned paper unless I can connect with the majority of the patterns in the pack, this set is a success with me – purple is always welcome, I adore the natural rustic feel of crumb cake – this entire suite has won me over. For this card, I had the overwhelming need to add in the Simply Zinnia bundle – for an additional touch of color. It feels more like a flower garden with that addition which also works perfectly for a birthday card. The Crumb cake gingham patterned paper works so well for the background – and I simply love the pattern. The colors are what makes me the happiest with Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape for the lavender. Berry Burst, Lofty Lemon, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the Zinnia. The leaves are Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock. The flowers and leaves are cut with the coordinating Simply Zinnia die set. The sentiment is from the Notes of Nature stamp set, stamped in Crumb Cake on Basic White cardstock and die cut with the Tailor Made Tags die set. The final touches of the Natural Wavy Trim – which is hands down my favorite ribbon/trim of all, and a dash of purple and sparkle on the tag with the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems (another piece to the Painted Lavender Suite.)

Gumball machines – they have got to be one of the top 5 most nostalgic items out there (at least in my mind). I think the early models are the neatest. I did a little research online about the Bubble Gum machine and discovered that chewing gum was introduced in the mid to late 1800’s by Thomas Adams and the Thomas Adams Gum Company. The machines appeared in the US around 1888, being among the first coin operated machines in the world. The most iconic Gumball Machine image is the one Stampin’ Up! has chosen to represent in this adorable Gumball Greetings Bundle. A very similar style machine was introduced in 1907 by Thomas Adams Gum Co., Norris Manufacturing was able to claim a patent for a similar machine design in 1923. So the gumball machine goes way back!

For this shaker card I combined the Gumball Greetings Bundle and the Sweet Talk Suite in the new January – June 2022 Mini Catalog. I used a bit of the Sweet Talk 12″x12″ DSP, Pearlescent Specialty Paper for the body of the machine, as well as Gold Foil for the machine front and accents. I die cut a few tiny hearts with the Sweet Heart Dies, then stamped the tiny conversation messages on them from the Gumball Greetings Stamp Set. I used the larger conversation heart image with ” UR Cute” as the greeting on the front. All the die cut hearts (big and small) sparkle with the help of Wink of Stella. On the dial of the machine, I used a tiny Iridescent Rhinestone which worked perfectly with the predominate Blushing Bride. Inside the shaker I added a few of the smaller sized From my Heart Faceted Gems from the Annual catalog and a the tiny Highland Heather and Blushing Bride die cut hearts.

Congratulations to our lucky winner from last months drawing:
